Game of week preview: Madison Southern searches for 1st win since week 2

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Madison Southern hosts Paul Laurence Dunbar for the Eagles homecoming matchup this 2026 season.
The Eagles are looking to end homecoming night victorious as well as find that win column for the first time since the first two weeks of the season.

Heading into its game against the Bulldogs, both programs enter 2-3 on the season. Both programs hungry for that win and that boost of momentum ahead of district play.
For Madison Southern, its key to success will be stringing together four solid quarters of football.
"Need to be more consistent," said head coach Tim Kirk. "We've put a couple good halves together - that's what we were just talking about on the field right there. We've got to find a way to put four quarters together in all three phases. We've got to get out of the selfish mentality, and we've got to do our responsibility."
"This week we need to focus on coming out strong," said receiver and defensive back, Judah Storie. "Coming out of halftime strong and finishing the game. On defense we got to set the tone, we got to show that we can come out there and e can stop them as much as we want. On offense got to get out there they got to do their thing, they got to put points on the board to win the game."
