Even Cubs Longtime Rival Christian Yelich Has Nothing But Praise For Pete Crow-Armstrong

Pete Crow-Armstrong is the favorite to win the National League MVP Award, and even his rivals have nothing but great things to say about him.
The Cubs once again fell short of winning the National League Central, watching the Brewers' four-peat for the first time in the division's history. The Brewers have their own MVP Award winner in Christian Yelich. Yelich won MVP in 2018 and was the favorite to win a second MVP Award in 2019 before a knee injury in the final month of the regular season.

It's been a while since Yelich won MVP, but at his peak he was a dynamic power-speed threat, just like Crow-Armstrong. Yelich didn't have the advantage that Crow-Armstrong does on the bases with all of the new rules, but he was still able to make a difference at the plate with his power and with his legs on the basepaths. Yelich acknowledged how good a hitter Crow-Armstrong has been this year, despite playing for his rival team.
"He's probably the best defender in the game right now, and it'd be hard to find another hitter that's going as good as he is," Yelich said, per ESPN's Jesse Rogers. "He's had a great year and a special year for him."
Yelich's MVP season was great, but it did not feature Platinum Glove defense.
"Yes, without the defense," Yelich said when asked if he sees similarities between his MVP season and Crow-Armstrong's. "That's what makes him really, really special -- is being able to combine the two."
Crow-Armstrong should win the Platinum Glove this year, and there's a good chance his Cubs and Yelich's Brewers meet in the postseason.
