Friends of a woman in Florida who was arrested last week for allegedly having sex with her dog said she was framed by her estranged husband, according to a New York Post report.
Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said Malia Nummerdor, 38, is facing charges of sexual activity involving animals following an investigation into social media posts alleging that the mom of two had engaged in sexual activity with the family dog.
Police said they contacted the person who made the allegations and obtained surveillance footage backing the claim.
Fundraiser says woman, her sons kicked out of home
According to the Post , the allegations stem from her husband, Erik Nummerdor, whom her friends say acted maliciously by accusing her of the alleged crime.
The tabloid cited a fundraiser created by Malia’s friends, which stated that she and her sons have been displaced from their home and that she needed money to cover legal costs.
“(Their) lives have been turned upside down following a painful and difficult situation involving Malia’s estranged husband and allegations against her that she maintains are untrue,” the online fundraiser said, per the Post .
“Malia is facing serious allegations, and she needs experienced legal representation to ensure that she has the opportunity to fully address them through the proper legal process. This situation has also deeply affected her two young sons, who deserve privacy, stability, and as much normalcy as possible while the adults involved work through what comes next,” the fundraiser reportedly said.
Police showed accused the surveillance footage
Police said detectives showed Malia the footage they obtained, and that she confirmed she was the person seen in the video and that the dog was the family pet.
Cops said the video showed her “partially nude and the animal positioned in a manner consistent with sexual activity.”
She allegedly “denied anything sexual” occurred, but police said she “could not provide a consistent explanation for what was seen on the camera.”
Erik had installed security cameras in the home to find out who was stealing money from a coin jar, the Post reported.
He made the discovery when he was reviewing video recordings from a bedroom camera, which allegedly showed Malia engaging in sex acts with the dog.
