A defeat to Kidderminster Harriers in the Women's National League Cup coupled with a 2-1 loss to league leaders Moneyfields has emphatically ended Gwalia's unbeaten start to the campaign.
But with a game in hand on promotion rivals and plenty of football still to be played, Gwalia boss Cori Williams-Mills remains confident.
"Nothing has changed because of the result on Sunday," said Williams-Mills.
"Our aims collectively will stay the same until the end of the season. It's disappointing but we will learn from it and improve."
Bridgwater United, alongside Moneyfields boast a 100 per cent win record as Gwalia's tumbled at the hands of the latter.
Gwalia looked capable of upsetting the leaders when summer signing Kylie Nolan scored her first league goal for the club. But Moneyfields fought back to win 2-1.
Despite the defeat, Williams-Mills is not allowing one result to distract from the bigger picture.
"We have a group of players and a club who want to compete at the highest level and one game of football won't change that."
To secure an immediate return to tier three, Gwalia must win Division One South West before overcoming the Division One South East champions in a promotion play-off.

And Gwalia's own hopes of bouncing back have been boosted by the return of former Arsenal academy player Daisy Ackerman from injury.
Ackerman came off the bench against Moneyfields and adds valuable experience to a young squad.
"It's great to have Daisy back in contention," said Williams-Mills.
"She is part of the leadership group and brings an abundance of energy and a lot of experience to our squad."
Gwalia also boast the firepower to cause problems. Molly Kehoe has scored three goals in her first three appearances in all competitions, Esme Kilburn-Thompson announced herself with a hat-trick on debut, and Nolan has now opened her league account.
Gwalia also have the Adobe Women's FA Cup to look forward to, with the third-round qualifying draw taking place on 21 September ahead of ties on 4 October.
After losing to Plymouth Argyle in round two last season, Williams-Mills will hope Gwalia can go at least one better with the prospect of facing a WSL2 side in round three and Women's Super League sides in round four.
For a club with aspirations of climbing the pyramid, they would relish the chance to test themselves against higher-level opposition.
"Looking ahead at the FA Cup, it's a special cup that brings opportunities to compete with the very best in the country and hopefully we can have a good run and create some special moments," concluded Williams-Mills.
