Mets' Jared Young stretchered off field after colliding with Nolan McLean

NEW YORK — Mets first baseman Jared Young needed to be stretchered off the field in the sixth inning of the team's game with the Phillies on Thursday night at Citi Field.
On a soft ground ball to the right side of the infield, Mets starter Nolan McLean and Young collided near first base. McLean's knee collided with the head of Young, who had dove down to try and field the ground ball. Young collapsed face first onto the infield dirt.

Young was placed on a backboard by EMTs as members of the Mets took a knee near first base. Young, who lingered on his back for about 10 minutes, gave a thumbs-up as he was carted off through the left-field wall.
Mark Vientos entered the game at first base for the Mets.
