The Milwaukee Brewers are a serious threat to win this year's World Series, which would be the organization's first championship.
They've been the best all-around team all season, including their bullpen.
However, Milwaukee recently cut ties with a notable reliever who hasn't appeared in a Major League game since 2025.
According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brewers designated left-hander Rob Zastryzny for assignment on Thursday morning.
Zastryzny has spent most of the season on the 60-day injured list with a trapezius strain. Last season, the 34-year-old posted a 2.45 ERA with 20 strikeouts and 6.5 hits allowed per nine innings in 22 frames.

Throughout the season, Zastryzny has started and stopped four separate rehab assignment stints in an attempt to return to the Majors.
His nagging injury has not made it an easy task. Zastryzny's average fastball velocity at Triple-A this year is 90.2 mph, per Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors.
Zastryzny made his MLB debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, throwing 16 innings with just two earned runs allowed for the eventual World Series champions.
