The San Francisco 49ers will gun for their second win when they take on the Miami Dolphins at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. The 49ers are coming off a rousing victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL’s first-ever regular-season clash in London.

Nick Bosa and Dre Greenlaw contributed a combined 10 tackles, with the former also logging two tackles for loss and one quarterback hit.

They are back sharing the field on defense after Greenlaw returned to the 49ers after one season with the Denver Broncos. The 28-year-old Bosa did not hide his delight in reuniting with the 29-year-old Greenlaw.

“It’s amazing. Dre is my favorite teammate I’ve ever played with on the field, so to have him back is awesome,” said Bosa in a video posted by 95.7 The Game.

“He wears his emotions on his sleeve, and you can feel the energy and the anger. When you play defense, it’s fun to be a part of.”

Denver released Greenlaw in March. A few days later, San Francisco signed him to a one-year, $7.5 million deal. He admitted that he was unhappy with the Broncos, citing his multiple injuries and the “f****** altitude.” The Broncos signed him to a three-year, $35 million contract.

While he was thankful for the opportunity to play in Denver, the veteran linebacker is thrilled to be back in San Francisco—and Bosa can feel it.

Greenlaw and Bosa, who both entered the NFL in 2019, make up the engine of the defense, along with Fred Warner and Deommodore Lenoir, and they are expected to do major damage against the Dolphins in Week 2.
