Gomis and Nusa put RBL in control
RBL took charge from the outset and got their reward just over a quarter of an hour in. Brajan Gruda released Ezechiel Banzuzi down the right, and his low cross was turned in first time by Tidiam Gomis at the near post (17’).

The Red Bulls doubled their advantage just 11 minutes later. After an errant pass from HSV goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes, Antonio Nusa won the ball from Shafiq Nandja and raced through on goal. Heuer Fernandes got a hand to the shot, but couldn’t keep it out (28’).
Hamburg grew into the game after that and posed more of a threat before the break, but the Red Bulls remained in control and took their two-goal lead into half time.
Three goals in five minutes
HSV made the brighter start after the restart, but RBL soon hit another gear. Willi Orbán arrived at the back post to turn home Nusa’s free-kick for 3-0 (72’). Just two minutes later, Nusa got away down the left and picked out Christopher Nkunku on the edge of the area. Christo met it first time and found the back of the net (74’).
And RBL weren’t finished there. Rômulo won the ball back near the halfway line and there was no stopping him from there. The striker rounded Heuer Fernandes before rolling the ball into the empty net (77’).
That put the result beyond any doubt. RBL comfortably saw out the closing stages to secure their second Bundesliga win of the season in front of their own fans.
