According to Over the Cap, and using Rob Demovsky's reporting for ESPN, Kraft's deal includes a $26.5 million signing bonus, almost $13 million in roster bonuses due across 2027 and 2028, almost $4 million available in per game roster bonuses across the four new seasons, $2 million in available workout bonuses (split into $500,000 increments over four seasons) and ballooning base salaries 2029 and 2030, the final two years of the deal.

In other words, this is another typical Packers contract extension. Green Bay protected itself with a large, prorated signing bonus and roster bonuses available during the first three years of the deal. Of the total money in the deal, only the signing bonus is guaranteed. And the $26.5 million signing bonus is believed to be the most ever paid to a tight end.

Per Over the Cap, Kraft's cap number in 2026 will be only $6.8 million, and his cap number remains under $20 million in both 2027 and 2028. Only in 2029, when the base salary goes up to $14.5 million, does Kraft's cap number hit $21 million.

Cap numbers: $680,897 in 2026, $12,675,000 in 2027, $16,775,000 in 2028, $21,275,000 in 2029 and $21,275,000 in 2030.

The incentive structure is based around Pro Bowls, All-Pro teams, catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. With a $17 million gap between base and max value, Kraft has an opportunity to earn a lot more money if he's a game-changing player for the Packers in the coming seasons.

Note: Demovsky made it clear that the numbers are not final until the contract is filed with the NFLPA.

Kraft signed the deal on Saturday, a day before the Packers kick off the regular season against the Minnesota Vikings. Kraft, who is coming off a torn ACL suffered last November, was scheduled to enter the final year of his original rookie contract in 2026. Now, he is under contract in Green Bay through 2030.
