NFR to Extend Operation of Two Pairs of Special Trains To Clear Extra Passenger Rush During Festival Season

To facilitate passengers and clear the extra rush of passengers during the upcoming festival season, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to extend the operation of 02 additional pairs of special trains. These include Train No. 04008/04007 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Jogbani – Anand Vihar Terminal) Festival Special Express and Train No. 08047/08048 (Santragachi Jn. – Naharlagun – Santragachi Jn.) Special. These special services will provide additional connectivity and enhanced travel options, helping passengers plan their journeys more conveniently during the festival season. These trains will operate with their existing schedule, timings, composition and stoppages.

The services of train no. 04008 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Jogbani) Festival Special Express have been introduced for 05 trips from 10th October to 7th November, 2026. In the return direction, train no. 04007 (Jogbani – Anand Vihar Terminal) Festival Special Express will operate for 05 trips from 11th October to 8th November, 2026. The train will operate via Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Gonda, Gorakhpur Jn., Chhapra, Hajipur, Barauni, Begusarai, Khagaria, Naugachia, Katihar, Purnea Jn., and Forbesganj, among other stations. The train will have 20 coaches for the convenience of passengers.

Further, the operation of train no. 08047 (Santragachi Jn. – Naharlagun) Special has been extended for 03 additional trips on 11th, 18th and 25th September, 2026. In the return direction, train no. 08048 (Naharlagun – Santragachi Jn.) Special will operate for 03 additional trips on 12th, 19th and 26th September, 2026.
