Friends dominates Avila in home opener

WICHITA, KAN. (KSNW) — Ninth-ranked Friends University cruised to a 61-10 win over Avila in its first home game of the season Saturday night.

The Falcons scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters and found the end zone three times in the fourth.

Nick Cordova led the rushing attack with 97 yards and one score. Walker Overman compiled 81 yards on the ground and one TD. E'derian Sykes ran for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Elon Conley followed with 67 yards and one TD. Evan Cantu added 58 yards and one score.

DJ Dingle threw a 45-yard touchdown to Kade Clifton for Friends' only completion of the night.

The Falcons posted 550 yards of offense and were 8-for-9 on third-down conversions.

Friends visits Bethel next Saturday.
