Mumbai GPO honours ‘Lagaan’ team on silver jubilee

Members of the cast of the iconic film Lagaan were honoured at the Mumbai General Post Office (GPO) as the film celebrates its silver jubilee.
Actors Amin Hajee, who played Bagha, Yashpal Sharma, who portrayed Lakha, Akhilendra Mishra, who played Arjan, and Dayashankar Pandey, known for his role as Goli, visited the iconic Mumbai GPO for the occasion.

The actors were presented with Special Postal Cover Albums commemorating 25 years of Lagaan by Chief Postmaster General of Maharashtra R.K. Jayabhaye and Director Postal Services Ms. Simran Kaur.
The special postal covers celebrate the enduring legacy of Lagaan, which was released in 2001 and went on to become one of Indian cinema’s most acclaimed films.
Also present on the occasion were actors Pallavi Singh and Gauri Singh, Amitabh Singh, CPMG Kerala, Ajaykumar Jallan and Vinay Deshlahra.
The event brought together members associated with the film and postal officials to mark the milestone anniversary of the celebrated period sports drama.
