Marc Casado has left Barcelona for a season-long loan at Deportivo and admits it’s tough to leave the Camp Nou.

The 22-year-old had been deemed surplus to requirements at Barcelona but did not manage to complete a transfer away from the club until deadline-day.

Casado has been quizzed about the transfer after being met at the airport by reporters and answered “You never know” when asked about a possible return to Barcelona.

He was also asked if he was upset to be leaving and replied: “Taking a year off from playing at Barça is tough, but I’m excited. I’m not leaving upset; I’ve already talked it over with the club, and we all have things to improve.”

Casado will now spend the season in Galicia and says Deportivo, who are back in La Liga this season, are “building a really solid project, with a lot of drive.”

Deportivo have opened up their campaign with two draws and a victory and are back in action on Saturday against Villarreal.
