Chelsea had been in negotiations with Les Monégasques throughout deadline day to sign the 22-year-old as they searched for a replacement for Enzo Fernández (25), who looks set to join Manchester City for a record-equalling British fee of £125m. The Côte d’Azur outfit originally commanded a fee in the region of €70m, due to their lack of need to sell with Folarin Balogun seemingly joining Everton. However, after the USMNT forward failed his medical, the club have been forced to negotiate with the Blues at a much lower price in order to raise funds before the end of the window. Everything now points towards Camara joining the Blues.
