Bayern Munich’s Ismael Saibari off to a hot start

Moroccan forward Ismael Saibari made the move to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window. An injury towards the end of the World Cup saw the 24 year-old miss the pre-season friendlies with his new club. He finally made his debut in one of the biggest fixtures of world football, Der Klassiker.
“It’s always nice to win titles – and more so if it’s your first game. It was really nice to make my official debut. I think it went really well, and now I can say I’ve played in Der Klassiker. It was a goal of mine to play in one” said Saibari about the victory against Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup in a recent interview with Bundesliga.

Saibari only made his appearance in the final 10 minutes of the game, in what was a cautionary move to ease him back after his recovery. The thigh muscle tear sustained by the striker against Canada in the round of 16 made him miss the rest of the World Cup campaign and slowed down integration with his new team.
