Why Jets' Garrett Wilson is excited to work with OC Frank Reich

The New York Jets have a better supporting cast on offense than they're getting league-wide credit for. It all starts with superstar wide receiver Garrett Wilson. New offensive coordinator Frank Reich is tasked with getting Wilson (and others) the ball.

Wilson is coming off a disappointing, injury-shortened campaign. The Jets believe he'll return to being a 1,000-yard wideout this season. Wilson is excited for what Coach Reich has in store for the offense.

Frank [Reich] reminds me of the league that I grew up watching," Wilson recently told The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt. Reich has allegedly done a fantastic job studying Wilson's skill set this offseason while drawing up plans to help him succeed. All indications are the No. 1 receiver will be properly deployed in this new-look offense.

The Jets' offense has looked and felt looser than it did under Tanner Engstrand. Reich's previous experience as a head coach and play caller has helped immensely. Quarterback Geno Smith and Wilson are helping make the offense feel natural.

Reich is breathing life into a Jets offense that crawled to the finish line last season. There's legitimate hope and expectations that this offense could be significantly more productive than the consensus realizes. It starts with Reich and Wilson.
