Three of Engle's touchdown passes went to Campbell Damery, a standout soccer player who is a wide receiver on Normal Community's flag football team. Damery took an Engle shovel pass and scampered into the endzone in the first quarter for the first touchdown in school history.
Normal West's first score came on a trick play with Trinity Wynn taking the ball 86 yards for a score. Bloomington's first ever scoring play was a 96-yard run by freshman Ellie Weaver.
In boys soccer, Normal West blanked Pekin, 9-0, to win its season opener.
