Prediction of Bayern Munich’s league phase games in the Champions League
· Yahoo Sports
The league phase draw for the Champions League is finished and Bayern Munich found out who their opponents are home and away. I’m going to give my predictions for each one and maybe I will revisit this after league phase is finished.
For reference, here are the teams that the Bavarians got in the league phase:

Arsenal (Home)
This is a tasty match because it’s a rematch between the two clubs after they met in the league phase last season. Bayern ended up losing but a lot has changed since then and there’s a good chance that the Bavarians can exact revenge on the Champions League runners-up.
Prediction: Bayern 2-1 Arsenal
Atletico Madrid (Away)
Atleti away is never an easy match. The last time that Bayern visited Atletico was in 2020/21, when Thomas Müller rescued Bayern with a late goal. Facing Arsenal and Atleti back-to-back is a tough starting run for a European campaign. Every team is beatable, though.
Prediction: Atletico Madrid 0-1 Bayern
Real Betis (Home)
Betis is an interesting matchup for Bayern to get. The Seville-based club has never played Bayern in any competition but does have players who faced the German champions before like Hector Bellerin and Marc Bartra and they also have Marc Roca who transferred from Bayern. Bayern’s firepower and the intimidating Allianz Arena atmosphere will overwhelm the Spanish club.
Prediction: Bayern 4-0 Betis
Manchester United (Away)
Ah, good ol’ Man United. Bayern got them in the 2023/24 group stage and won 4-3 at home and 1-0 away. United is a shambles right now and were just recently beaten by Hull City. It’ll probably be a sleepwalk win for Bayern.
Prediction: Man United 0-3 Bayern
Bodø/Glimt (Home)
The surprise team of last season, Bodø/Glimt, is visiting and playing Bayern for the first time. They’ll probably still have that element of surprise in them and get a goal, but Bayern will roar back and get the win even with a B-team.
Prediction: Bayern 4-2 Bodø/Glimt
Lille OSC (Away)
The former French champions, coached by Davide Ancelotti (the son of Carlo), led the side to an impressive third place in Ligue 1 and have good players like Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Olivier Giroud, and Tanguy Nianzou who is a former Bayern player. Bayern will emerge victorious, but it will be close.
Prediction: Lille 2-3 Bayern
Slavia Praha (Home)
Slavia is another team who Bayern has never played against before. This could be the kind of match where Kompany could feature a B-team in what cold be a topsy-turvy match.
Prediction: Bayern 6-1 Slavia Praha
Viking SK (Away)
Contrary to popular belief, this is a tricky fixture upon closer inspection because it’s an away match in Norway during winter. This game could go either way, but Bayern should have the goods to get the job done.
Prediction: Viking 1-2 Bayern
