Lucas and Sacha Coenen commit to full SuperMotocross schedule for 2027

Lucas and Sacha Coenen, 19-year-old twin brothers from Belgium, will race in the SuperMotocross League (SMX) in 2027 and beyond for Red Bull KTM. Lucas will compete in the 450 class. Sacha will compete in the 250 class, the team announced in a news release.
The move is described as multi-year, affecting "2027 and onwards," according to the release.

Lucas currently competes in the 450 division of MXGP and is fourth in the standings with five overall victories. He competed in the Thunder Valley National in June and finished second overall. He also raced in Southwick in July, crashing in the first moto and withdrawing from the second race.
"I’m pumped to be able to confirm that we’ll be in the US next year," Lucas said. "When we went to Thunder Valley it was amazing and we’ve also been bringing the results for the team in GPs until some bad luck with the hip problem. 2027 will be a big change for the family but it’s a dream to make this move. Thanks to everyone at Red Bull KTM for making this next chapter possible."
Sacha finished fourth in his debut at Thunder Valley after crashing in the first moto to finish 14th. He won the second race. He also competed in Southwick and swept the motos despite breaking his collarbone in a late-race accident in Moto 2.
Sacha is currently second in the MX2 class, MXGP's 250 division.
"Super-excited; we still have big goals for the rest of MX2 this year but to have this deal confirmed means we can focus on the target and also get organized for 2027," Sacha said. "There will be a lot to learn but it’s what we want to do. It’s very cool to have this opportunity. I can’t wait already."
Both brothers had the MXG{ red plate at some point during the 2026 season.
It has not yet been determined if Sacha will race in the Monster Energy Supercross East or West division.
