Nalasopara: A 31-year-old accused, who allegedly attacked a Bengaluru police officer and escaped from a hotel in Nalasopara while being taken to Bengaluru, has been arrested in Goa.

Bengaluru police confirm arrest after joint operation with Nalasopara officials
The accused, identified as Vikas Yadav, was arrested with the assistance of Nalasopara police by a team from Bengaluru City Police in connection with cases related to drugs and fraud. Nalasopara Senior Police Inspector Vishal Valvi confirmed that Bengaluru police arrested Yadav in Goa on Monday, August 24.
Yadav was produced before the Vasai court on Saturday. After the court granted him transit remand, preparations were made to take him to Bengaluru. The police team was scheduled to travel to Bengaluru by train that night.
Accused allegedly attacks police officer and escapes from hotel room
Police officer Venkatesh Chaudhary from Bengaluru City Police, along with two other personnel, was accompanying the accused. While two other officers had gone out for some work, Chaudhary remained with Yadav in Room No. 203 of Galaxy Hotel in Nalasopara West.
Thane Police Commissioner Calls For Public Participation To Make Drug-Free India Campaign SuccessfulAccording to police, while preparations were underway to take Yadav to Bengaluru, he allegedly attacked Chaudhary and then locked the officer inside the room before fleeing from the hotel.
Following the incident, a case was registered at the Nalasopara Police Station. After a search operation, Bengaluru police, with the assistance of Nalasopara police, traced and arrested Yadav in Goa on Monday.
