Jaipur: A woman travelling by train from Jaipur to Sri Ganganagar alleged that she was harassed by a group of men who were reportedly drinking alcohol and using abusive language in an adjacent compartment late at night. In a video that has surfaced online, the woman questioned the Railways over the alleged absence of security personnel on the train.

According to the woman, the incident took place around 1 am while she was travelling in an AC 2-tier coach. She alleged that three men sitting in a nearby compartment were drinking alcohol and using abusive language for nearly half an hour. She said she approached them and asked them to stop, pointing out that children were present, but claimed they continued drinking and abusing.

Woman Alleges Security Absence

In the video, the woman also alleged that there was no police personnel present anywhere in the train. She said she informed railway personnel about the situation through the TTE and waited for around an hour, but claimed no police officer arrived.

The woman then recorded visuals showing the alleged group sitting in the adjacent compartment, with what appeared to be a liquor bottle visible near them. She expressed concern over her safety and alleged that one of the men had threatened to kill the children of the person who complained against them.

She questioned the authorities over the alleged delay in providing security assistance. “How serious are you regarding women’s safety, really?” she asked, directing her criticism towards the Railways and the government.

Security Assistance Allegedly Delayed

The woman further claimed that she was initially told that a policeman would board the train at Makrana, but no one arrived. She alleged that passengers were later told security personnel would board at Degana, but claimed that no policeman arrived there either. The video has since drawn attention on social media, with the woman’s allegations raising questions about security arrangements on trains, particularly during late-night journeys.

However, there is currently no independent confirmation of the allegations, including the exact circumstances of the incident, the identities of the men involved or whether they were consuming alcohol.
