The Big Story: 5-Stars to Champaign

Illinois basketball continues to make noise on the recruiting trail. Five-star 2027 small forward Moussa Kamissoko has scheduled an official visit to Champaign, giving Brad Underwood and the Illini their third confirmed five-star visitor in the class. Kamissoko is a top-20 national prospect and the No. 5 small forward in the class.

🏀 Basketball

Illinois’ 2026-27 non-conference schedule is now complete, and it is loaded. The Illini will face five high-major opponents and six teams that reached last season’s NCAA Tournament, including Duke, UConn, North Carolina, Texas Tech, Baylor and Missouri.

🏈 Football

Senior defensive back and team captain Matthew Bailey was named to the 2026 Chuck Bednarik Award watch list. Bailey is one of 91 players nationally and 19 Big Ten players under consideration for the award honoring the nation’s top defensive player. He led Illinois in tackles in each of the past two seasons.

⚽ Soccer

Illinois picked up its first win of the season Thursday, rallying past Cincinnati 2-1. The Illini are back in action Sunday at 5 p.m. CT against UIC at Demirjian Park.
