Actor-model Asim Riaz reacted to his ex-girlfriend Himanshi Khurana’s recent comments about their past relationship, strongly denying that he ever asked her to convert or change her religion. His response came days after Himanshi discussed their relationship and differences in religious beliefs during an appearance on Paras Chhabra’s podcast.

Asim addressed the matter in a lengthy note shared on Instagram on Sunday. Without directly naming Himanshi, he claimed that religion was being used to create negativity around him and urged her not to turn a personal matter into a source of public controversy.
"I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You've been in this shape only after meeting me before that, everyone knew how you looked. So please, don't use religion as a weapon. It's a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you're willing to go for attention," he wrote.

"And when it came to my career, it never needed anyone to build it for me or claim credit for what they never contributed. Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But money was never the measure of character. Character is how far you're willing to fall when you're desperate for attention, relevance, or a few more views," Asim added.
Taking a dig at host Paras, Asim said, "And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession brother, respectfully, I'd suggest spending a little less time discussing other people's lives and a little more time in the gym."

The controversy began after Himanshi asked about reports that she had considered converting to another religion while she was dating Asim.
Himanshi clarified that she would not call the situation “conversion”. She explained that her former partner had spoken to her about the positive aspects of his religion and wanted her to understand and accept them.
“Conversion nahi bolungi, par woh apne religion ki achhi baatein bata rahe the, sab bata rahe the. Achhi baat hai. Woh chahte the ki main achha samajhkar accept karu, lekin mujhe manzoor nahi tha,” she said.
Although Himanshi did not mention Asim by name during the conversation, her comments were linked to their past relationship.

Speaking about the emotional impact it had on her, Himanshi said she felt as though she was betraying her faith. “Aisa feel hua ki main apne Bhagwan ko dhokha de rahi hoon,” she said.
She also recalled thinking about visiting the Chaar Dham and completing her temple visits before making any decision.
Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana’s relationship
Asim and Himanshi met during Bigg Boss 13, where their relationship became one of the most discussed aspects of the season. Himanshi entered the reality show as a wild card contestant while she was engaged to her then-boyfriend Chow.
She and Asim later continued their relationship after leaving the show. The couple were together for around four years before announcing their separation in 2023. At the time, they cited differences in their religious beliefs as the reason for ending their relationship.
