Daman District Panchayat Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Daman District Panchayat Office on Saturday. District Panchayat Vice-President Reenaben Harishbhai Patel hoisted the National Flag and extended her warm Independence Day greetings to the people of Daman.

Addressing the gathering, Reenaben Patel conveyed her Independence Day greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the country is witnessing all-round development under his leadership.
She highlighted the development achieved in the Union Territory during the last 10 years under the leadership of Administrator Praful Patel. She said that the Union Territory has witnessed significant progress across various sectors, particularly in infrastructure and public facilities.
Referring to the Namo Multi-Speciality Hospital and Namo Airport, Patel said these initiatives have provided important facilities and benefits to the people of the region. She also noted that the Namo Airport has established air connectivity between Daman and Delhi.
Patel further said that the Union Territory is emerging as an educational hub with the presence and development of higher educational institutions, including an Engineering College, Medical College, NIFT and GNLU.
Earlier, Reenaben Patel hoisted the National Flag and paid her respects to the Tricolour. BDO Mihir Joshi, officials and staff of the District Panchayat, BDO Office, CDPO and Agriculture Department, school students, District Panchayat members and citizens were present at the programme.
The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment towards the development and progress of Daman and the nation.
