SUE DUMINY THREATENS TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST TROLLS

In her latest Instagram post, Sue Duminy shared a series of pictures of what she had been up to recently.

One included attending Rachel Kolisi’s Falling Forward book and documentary launch event in Cape Town. Another was sharing her decision to prosecute social media trolls who had attacked her online.

Sue shared a poster about the legal ramifications of making offensive social media comments, which can result in criminal and civil liability. The poster cited Sections 10 and 14 of the Constitution, which protect the rights to dignity and privacy, as well as the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and the common law on defamation.

Sue captioned the post: “Who knew a side hustle could make so much money! You can now legally sue people who leave bad comments about you on social media!”

She added: “I already had my first payout a while ago. Keyboard warriors, your days are officially over”

Under the post, Springbok WAG Layla Kolbe thanked Sue Duminy for sharing the information, with the latter adding: “You have no idea how easy it is. #earlyretirement”.

It’s unclear who Sue has taken legal action against.

GOING BACK TO HER MAIDEN NAME

In another social media post – an IG Story – Sue Duminy hinted at reverting to her maiden name, which she has already done on her platform.

Sue revealed that she had spent a day at the Department of Home Affairs, in an effort to “try to make my life mine again”.

Hinting at her own failed marriage, she shared: “When my girls get married one day, they will for sure not take on anyone else’s surname. A lot of lessons learnt”

She continued: “I think couples who want to get married should go for an intense course discussing everything from chores, responsibilities, financial forecast, financial management, goals, future plans, future family forecast, what’s acceptable and what’s not, and so much more..

“I do regret sitting in church and seeing the pastor for two weeks for “marriage classes” instead of focusing on much more important things. #UseItDontUseIt”.

Sue Duminy has also revealed that she is writing a handbook containing premarital advice.
