According to a report from A Bola (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Benfica has agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha:

Benfica and João Palhinha have agreed personal terms on a 4-year contract until 2030 with a salary worth around €6m gross per year. The Portuguese side is now offering Bayern €15m fixed plus €5m in performance based add-ons. Benfica believe they can close a deal with Bayern very soon due to the player’s preference to return to Portugal.

BFW Analysis

In truth, this would be a pretty fair offer from Benfica to Bayern Munich. A deal totaling €20 million might be as good as it gets. The interesting part of this report is that — if true — this could represent a pay cut for Palhinha, who is currently making a salary of €10 million with a bonus structure that is worth €2 million per Capology.

If Palhinha is really willing to take a lesser deal, it likely indicates he is getting desperate to move on and get to a preferred destination. Will Bayern Munich drop its rumored demands and accept this offer from Benfica?

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also rumored to be interested in Palhinha.
