Lakers' full Emirates NBA Cup group play schedule has been revealed

While the full NBA schedule for the upcoming season hasn't been released yet, some matchups have been leaked. The opening week and Christmas schedule were released on Tuesday, and it was revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers will open their season against the Golden State Warriors while hosting LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 25.

On Wednesday, the group play schedule for the Emirates NBA Cup was released. Los Angeles will begin with a contest at the Golden State Warriors on Friday, Oct. 30 before hosting the Portland Trail Blazers a week later. On Nov. 20, the Sacramento Kings will come to town to face the Lakers, and the Lakers will then visit the San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 27.

The matchups against the Warriors, Trail Blazers and Spurs can be seen on Prime Video. This year, the Lakers are in West Group C.

This time around, both the quarterfinals and semifinals of the knockout rounds will be held in the cities of the teams that hold home-court advantage for those matchups. The final game of this year's Emirates NBA Cup will take place at Hinkle Fieldhouse, a historic basketball arena in Indianapolis. In the past three years, both the semifinal and final rounds took place in Las Vegas.

The knockout rounds will begin on Dec. 4, and the final game to decide the winner of the Emirates NBA Cup will be played on Dec. 11. The Lakers won the inaugural NBA Cup in the fall of 2023.
