Local elite cornerback locks in game visit with Florida State

Florida State has been heavily involved in recruiting 2028 four-star cornerback Izayah Vickers, who is a local kid who attends Florida State University High School in Tallahassee. They extended him an offer last June after he attended their Elite Camp, and he took three game visits during the season.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder has locked in another for this season, per Zach Blostein of 247Sports. He'll be in Tallahassee on Nov. 27 when FSU plays the Florida Gators in their season finale. He'll also get to see them when they play the Miami Hurricanes on Oct. 17 on the road.

Vickers is the No. 107 recruit in the country and the No. 10 cornerback per the 247Sports composite rankings. They also have him ranked as the No. 14 prospect in the state of Florida.
So far in 2026, Vickers took an unofficial visit to Florida State in March, and he was most recently on campus in June for a camp. After he took the former trip, Vickers praised the Seminoles' coaching staff
“I really loved practice. Love how the coaches challenge the players,” Vickers said. “Even though they’re coming off a break, really challenging them and pushing them. Pushing them to the maximum extreme, just to get the best out of them.”
Vickers had a very good season in 2025. He registered 65 tackles, three tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries as a cornerback. In addition to those duties, Vickers also takes some snaps at safety.
This is a key target for Florida State, and they need to keep pursuing him immensely.
