Jamal Musiala used to be the fun, new at Bayern Munich that could do no wrong. He twisted and turned past all the defenders with his mesmerizing dribbling and dazzled the crowds with the #42 on his back.

That time is over now, though. Musiala has given up the #42 for the #10 for both club and country while becoming one of Bayern’s biggest earners and most important players all at the same time. With this added pressure comes the need to perform despite that baggage.

However, Musiala has a system for dealing with this pressure. Speaking to Sport Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), he elaborates on what he does:

“I need no pressure from outside because I put enough pressure on myself. What I say about myself carries more weight than what others say. That naturally influences your self-image. When I make a mistake and then dwell on it too much, it doesn’t help me. I try to stay calm and keep a cool head.”

Bayern will hope Musiala can take that cool head and use it to catch fire in the 2026/27 season.
