On Wednesday, the Blue Jays announced that right-hander Trey Yesavage was placed on the 15-day IL due to left knee inflammation.
Yesavage lasted just two innings last night before exiting his start early against the Houston Astros with knee discomfort.
During his third-inning warm-ups, Yesavage appeared uncomfortable, and manager John Schneider and a trainer walked out to the mound to check on the 23-year-old.
In 18 starts this season, Yesavage is 5-5 with a 3.65 ERA in 93.2 innings.

The Blue Jays also announced that righty Chad Dallas was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Fellow righties Lazaro Estrada and Chase Lee were recalled in corresponding moves.
Yesavage's injury is a tough blow for a Blue Jays club that sits in fifth place in the AL East just one year after reaching the World Series.
He put the baseball world on notice last postseason when he struck out 11 batters in 5.1 innings against the New York Yankees in the ALDS.
