"I look forward to helping build a program that athletes are proud to be part of and challenged to compete at a high level while also growing in character, leadership, confidence and teamwork that will carry them far beyond the field," Lloyd said in a school release Aug. 5.
She takes over a Columbia Academy program which is only recently removed from a stretch of state title success. CA claimed three Division II-A state championships between 2019-22 and was state runner-up in 2023.
Last season the Lady Bulldogs struggled after the loss of a number of key players to transfers, finishing 3-11 and falling in the District 3 tournament. The season prior, Huey's first as coach, Columbia Academy had reached the first round of the DII-A state tournament.
