Penguins Need To Sign The Best Free Agent Defenseman Left

· Yahoo Sports

The Pittsburgh Penguins have added many new players on their roster this off-season after their successfuly 2025-26 season. However, when looking at their current group, it is fair to argue that they should not be done making moves yet.

The Penguins could use another left-shot defenseman to solidify their blueline. Because of this, they should strongly consider signing the best UFA defenseman left: Logan Stanley.

If the Penguins signed Stanley they would be bringing in 28-year-old, 6-foot-7 defenseman who would provide their blueline with more size and grit. When noting that they moved on from two left-shot defensemen in Ryan Shea and Parker Wotherspoon this off-season, it would make sense if they brought in Stanley for more depth.

If the Penguins signed Stanley, he could be a strong fit on their bottom pairing and penalty kill. However, he could also even compete for second-pairing minutes if signed by Pittsburgh. In either scenario, the Metropolitan Division club's defensive group would get strong from a Stanley signing.

In 76 games last season split between the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres, Stanley recorded nine goals, 17 assists, 26 points, 110 hits, and 128 penalty minutes.
