Excitement arose among soccer fans around the world when it was announced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve as an analyst for the FIFA World Cup. He worked alongside Alexi Lalas and Thierry Henry for Fox Sports’ coverage and gave entertaining insights about games and players.
However, the legend announced after Sunday’s final that he will not return. He bid the network goodbye and stressed that he will not cover future World Cups.

Ibrahimovic anchored the Los Angeles-based studio team, contributing to pregame, halftime and postgame shows. He gave highly entertaining analysis in true Zlatan fashion, endearing him more to fans who supported him throughout his playing career.

The 44-year-old hung his cleats up for good in 2022 following AC Milan’s final game of the season. He started his senior club career with Malmo FF before playing for Ajax, Juventus and Inter Milan. Ibrahimovic then moved to Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-German and Manchester United. He also suited up for the LA Galaxy before returning to Italy to end his career there.
Ibrahimovic won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France and England. He also suited up for Sweden in international competitions, establishing himself as one of the best forwards in the world. His flamboyant playing style and larger-than-life persona made him an influential figure in the sport.
