High school football season is approaching, and the 2026 schedule is filled with marquee matchups. While every team and fans have games circled on the calendar for different reasons, three stand out above the rest: homecoming, senior night and the rivalry game.

Homecoming is more than just a football game. It is the conclusion of a week filled with school spirit and celebrations, creating an party like atmosphere especially when the homecoming king and queen are crowned at halftime.
Senior night carries a different meaning. It is an emotional evening that recognizes the program's seniors as they prepare to play one of the final home games of their careers. For many players, coaches and families, it is a night to celebrate memories while competing for one another.
Then there is the rivalry game. Records often become irrelevant when longtime rivals meet. Pride and bragging rights are on the line, and the intensity creates some of the most exciting moments of the season.
