Former Colorado State football coach Leon Fuller has died at the age of 87.

Fuller died July 11 at his home in Austin, Texas.
Fuller led the Rams from 1982-88, going 25-55 in charge. He helped bring Sonny Lubick to CSU, hiring Lubick as his offensive coordinator.
Fuller coached several legendary CSU players, including Kelli McGregor, Steve Bartalo, Terry Nugent, Ron Cortell and Kelly Stouffer.
CSU's most successful season under Fuller was 1986 when the Rams went 6-5 and thumped rival Colorado 23-7. He also coached CSU's lone football game played outside the United States when the Rams played BYU in Melbourne, Australia in 1987.
Fuller was also responsible for CSU switching from yellow helmets with green horns to green helmets with yellow horns, according to a story on CSURams.com.
Fuller was known as a defensive mastermind and had two different stints as a defensive coordinator at the University of Texas. As a player, he was an All-SEC player under Bear Bryant at Alabama. Fuller was a Denver Broncos defensive backs coach in 1994.
