The Men in Blue suffered in a clean sweep of 4-0 in the five-match T20I series in the first half of the England tour, which resulted in the end of their 1,605-day reign as No. 1 ranked T20I side.

This ODI series gives an opportunity to India to bounce back from their poor performance in the T20Is, as coach Gautam Gambhir will try to formulate a stable side for the upcoming ODI World Cup in 2027.

Post their success in T20Is, England will try to show that their aggressive batting style can succeed in the ODIs as well.
