What Happens When Snell and Glasnow Return? You Asked, Dodgers Nation Answers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in baseball at 59-32 and could be the first to eclipse 60 wins this season with a victory over the Colorado Rockies Monday night.

Despite the success so far, there’s plenty that remains unknown about this Dodgers squad, so we asked fans on social media what they’d like to know.

Overwhelmingly, fans are concerned about the pitching corps, including both the starting rotation and the bullpen, so we here at Dodgers Nation will answer some of the best questions put to us.

What will the Dodgers do when the injured starters return?

Two of the Dodgers more notable lengthy absences have been starting pitchers Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell.

At some point this season, those pitchers will come back, and the Dodgers will face a choice. Do they move on from the newly acquired Eric Lauer? Does Emmet Sheehan or Roki Sasaki get sent to the bullpen? What about Justin Wrobleski?

Dodgers Nation’s Aaron Coloma said Lauer and Sheehan are most at risk of losing their rotation spot, but neither is likely to leave the team.

What about the bullpen?

If Lauer and Sheehan are moved to the bullpen, that could help another area of concern, as multiple Dodgers relievers are also dealing with injury.

Fortunately, as Coloma points out, reliever Evan Phillips is due back imminently, and closer Edwin Diaz is progressing nicely as well.

When exactly is Edwin Diaz coming back?

Superstar closer Diaz has been out since April after undergoing surgery for loose bodies in his elbow, though he’s nearing a return.

And with his return to the mound, of course, comes his entrance song, “Narco” by Timmy Trumpet.

Coloma said it likely won’t be in the next day or two, but Diaz’s return is probably closer than many think.
