7 Somerset County athletes garner all-state baseball accolades

Seven Somerset County athletes collected Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association all-state honors, Friday, July 3.

Conemaugh Township senior Colin Dinyar was a first-team outfielder in Class 2A, while Rockwood senior Nathan Show garnered a first-team nod as an infielder in Class 1A.
Meanwhile, Somerset senior Colt Hagans was named a second-team pitcher in Class 4A. Windber senior outfielder Lucas Rummel was a second-team honoree in 2A, and Meyersdale junior pitchers Aiden Thomas and Carter Vogt, along with sophomore infielder Cole Yoder notched second-team selections in Class 1A.
Dinyar, a Pitt-Johnstown recruit who was named Somerset all-county MVP and Daily American Somerset County All-Star Team Player of the Year, paced Conemaugh Township with a .538 average, 35 hits, including eight doubles, four triples, three home runs, a team-high 29 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He was also tied for the team lead with 12 stolen bases.
Show delivered a team-high .522 average and was tied with 27 runs scored. He provided 24 hits, including eight doubles, three home runs and 18 RBIs.
Hagans, a Walsh University recruit, led the Golden Eagles with an 8-2 record, including two saves and a 2.37 ERA in 13 appearances. He allowed 25 runs, 22 earned on 53 hits, 21 walks and struck out 71 in 65 innings of work.
Rummel led the Ramblers with 31 RBIs and was tied for a team-high .387 average. He contributed 24 hits, 24 runs and 16 stolen bases.
Thomas made 11 appearances on the mound and had a 1.56 ERA. He allowed 21 runs, 14 earned on 47 hits, 16 walks and struck out 68 in 63 innings pitched.
Vogt had a 1.14 ERA in 10 appearances for the Red Raiders. He gave up 14 runs, eight earned on 40 hits, 12 walks and struck out 44 in 49 innings.
In 22 games, Yoder led the Red Raiders with a .397 average and 29 hits, including nine doubles, two triples and two home runs. He scored 24 runs.
Players were nominated by coaches and voted upon by the PSBCA all-state committee, which selected 40 players per classification into a first and second team.
