The left-handed pitcher played the first three years of his collegiate career as a member of the Tigers, but will now move on to the in-state Colonels after entering the transfer portal following his 2026 campaign that featured just four appearances. Primeaux managed just 2.1 innings of work this past season.
DJ Primeaux served primarily in relief during his three years at LSU, earning 20 strikeouts in 20 total innings while allowing nine earned runs and 14 walks. The pitcher was a member of the Tigers for both of LSU’s national championships in 2023 and 2025.
A Louisiana native, Primeaux played his prep ball at Central High School, where he came out of 2022 as the state’s top-ranked LHP recruit. Staying in the Boot in Thibodaux, LA, will allow Primeaux to earn increased playing time and still be in proximity to his home in Baton Rouge. In their lone matchup in 2026, the LSU Tigers defeated the Nicholls State University Colonels by a mercy-rule victory of 12-1.
