Is Germany out of World Cup?

After their upset loss to Paraguay in the Round of 32, Germany has been eliminated from the 2026 World Cup. The Germans had finished atop Group E with six points (2W-0D-1L). Prior to Monday evening's match, their only loss of the tournament was against Ecuador.

Germany's team is still relatively young, with a few exceptions. Captain Joshua Kimmich will be 33 at the time of the 2028 Euro tournament, while goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be 42 and likely off Nationalelf ("The National Eleven").
