The team is expected to make an announcement of the signing on June 28.

On June 24, the Predators acquired Drury, a 2029 third-round pick and forward Chase Bradley from the Colorado Avalanche for forwards Zach L'Heureux and Fedor Svechkov.

Drury, 26, was drafted in the second round (No. 42 overall) in 2018 by the Carolina Hurricanes. After three seasons there, he was traded to the Avalanche in 2025 as part of a deal that sent Mikko Rantanen to Carolina.

In 268 games, Drury has 30 goals and 52 assists while averaging 12:56 in ice time per game. He's excellent at faceoffs, winning more than 57% of his draws in his career. Seen more as a defensive player, he was the Avalanche's third-line center last season and should slot in that role in Nashville.

General manager Chris MacFarland added Drury, and forward Ross Colton in an earlier deal, to improve Nashville's center depth.

"We got better (with the moves)," MacFarland said. "There were reasons for both of those deals that we felt made it important. Bigger picture, we'd love to get stronger in the middle. We'd love to get more skilled in the middle of the ice."

By signing Drury, the Predators now have just under $20 million in cap space, according to Puck Pedia.
