Manel Kape seemingly punched his ticket to a UFC flyweight title shot earlier tonight (Sat., June 20, 2026) at UFC Vegas 119 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside UFC Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping former foe Kyoji Horiguchi with a main event TKO comeback.

In case you didn’t know, Horiguchi owned a win over Kape dating back to 2017 under the RIZIN banner. That was a wild matchup that lasted late into the third round before Horiguchi stopped “Starboy” with an arm-triangle choke. Saturday was Kape’s chance for revenge and his final stamp of approval to get his first-ever UFC title shot. If Horiguchi could play spoiler maybe he could score a shot at the winner of Joshua Van vs. Alexandre Pantoja later this year.

After a fun back-and-forth first two rounds that favored Horiguchi’s pace and output, Kape found a window of opportunity to steal the show. The talented striker waited for his moment to pounce and uncorked a perfectly-timed right hand that landed flush and sent Horiguchi into a tizzy. Kape followed up with heavy ground-and-pound shots before referee Herb Dean moved in for the TKO stoppage.

Check out the video highlights below and let us know if this is enough for Kape to get his shot at UFC gold!
