There's no denying that the Atlanta Falconshave a talented roster, and we would argue that it's the best one in the NFC South division.

Atlanta has blue-chip pieces at wide receiver, running back, tight end, edge, cornerback and safety - and they're really only dangerously thin along their interior defensive line. The rest of the position groups are solid if not absolutely loaded.
According to The Athletic's Falcons beat reporter Josh Kendall, the biggest worry for this team going into the 2026 season is a lack of depth.
"It’s still depth. The Falcons are in OK shape in terms of top-line talent, especially offensively, but the entire roster was lacking when first-year general manager Ian Cunningham took over. Along with the traditional acquisitions in free agency and the draft, Cunningham has signed 14 undrafted free agents, four players off tryouts, three alumni from the UFL and has traded for Morris and Brown since the beginning of the year."
This is a fair take. The Falcons still really need more firepower behind Drake London at wide receiver and their linebacker corps behind Divine Deablo could also use an infusion. Overall, there's not a whole lot of depth to go around outside of their running back room and the secondary.
That being said, it's pretty normal for an NFL team to not have great depth outside of two or three position groups, at most. Offensive line depth is a problem for basically all 32 of them - and this should be less of a problem for the Falcons, having added Bill Callahan to their new coaching staff under Kevin Stefanski.
Yes, they need more depth to really contend - but there's more than enough talent to go around to win the NFC South.
