Titans boost center competition, sign veteran Andre James

Before the Tennessee Titans kicked off their final round of offseason practices, Jeremy Fowler reported that the team had signed defensive lineman Jalyn Holmes to the offseason roster, but that wasn’t the only move of the day.

Tennessee also added some depth and competition along the offensive line, signing veteran center Andre James. James is an experienced pivot who brings familiarity with offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo and starting experience to the roster.

The seven-year veteran entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders following the 2019 NFL Draft out of UCLA, and eventually earned a roster spot and worked his way into the starting lineup. After spending the first six years of his career with the Raiders, he spent 2025 with the Los Angeles Chargers.
In all, the 6-foot-4, 300- pound center has seen action in 106 games with 61 starts during his seven NFL seasons, and will now battle Austin Schlottmann to be the starting center for the Titans in 2026.
To make room for Holmes and James, the Titans waived/injured defensive lineman CJ Ravenell and released center Trey Hill.
