Allie Grandgenett, Gilbert

Grandgenett played well in defeat for the Gilbert girls soccer team during its 3-0 setback to North Scott in the Class 2A quarterfinals of the 2026 IGHSAU girls state soccer tournament on June 8 at the Lied Recreation Fields in Ames.

Grandgenett did a good job possessing the ball in the midfield and slowing down a potent North Scott attack during the game. She also nearly scored a goal in the first half, as Lancer keeper Nora Barnett just got to the ball as Grandgenett got a foot on it.

Journey Wolfe, Ames

Wolfe helped the Ames softball team take down 5A No. 13 Waukee as part of a doubleheader on June 9 at Waukee.

Wolfe went 2-for-3 and she drove in two runs to help the Little Cyclones pull off the upset. Ames lost the other game by a 5-0 score.

Cypress Erickson, Collins-Maxwell

Erickson was a huge weapon at the leadoff spot in the batting order for the Collins-Maxwell softball team during a 17-4 rout of Rockford on June 10 at Waverly.

Erickson went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate during the game. She scored four runs, stole two bases and picked up one RBI.

Isla Martin, Nevada

Martin got a chance to hit, and she made the most of it during the Nevada softball team's 8-7 loss to South Hamilton on June 11 in Jewell.

Martin went into the game with only one hit on the season, but she went 3-for-4 with a double and a run against the Hawks to help keep the Cubs in the game.

Haylee Jackson, Colo-NESCO

Jackson had a big game with the stick during the Colo-NESCO softball team's 19-9 loss to Riceville on June 10 at Waverly.

Jackson was 2-for-3 with a double in a losing effort for the Royals. She scored a pair of runs and drove in three.
