The New York Knicks are NBA champions, no thanks to the support of Elmo, the lovable red monster who straddled the NBA Finals fence a little too much for the liking of other New Yorkers.

As a resident of Sesame Street, the fictional street in Manhattan, you'd think Elmo would've pulled hard for the Knicks over the San Antonio Spurs. But nope, Elmo refused to pick sides, only expressing hope that both teams would have fun -- and then doubling down on that desire, infuriating Knicks fans.
Apparently, Cookie Monster was a part of that contingent, because he threw some subtle shade at Elmo after the Knicks came out on top.
