Everything you need to know for the FIFA World Cup Kansas City Fan Festival

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The World Cup begins this week and fans will be treated to a spectacle on the pitch and throughout cities across North American.

There are 12 different cities hosting FIFA Fan Festivals this summer. Kansas City has set up a great central hub to watch the world’s game.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial is hosting the fan fest in downtown Kansas City. The fan festival is located south of the museum. It is a very similar location to the 2023 NFL Draft. 

A soft opening welcomed guests Tuesday, June 9. The festival will open its doors to the public Thursday, June 11. 

“I’m extremely impressed by the community that Kansas City has brought together to build such a beautiful event,” Marika Davis, Sporting Kansas City’s in-stadium host, told the Capital-Journal. “Everywhere you turn, there is something to do. There are great people to chat with and the screens that we are catching the matches on are really big. You are in a great spot no matter where you are here.”

When will the Kansas City Fan Festival open?

The Kansas City fan festival will run for 18 days. Each day will have various actives and performances on a stage that sits just south of the museum. There are various video boards to watch all of the action from the World Cup. 

Here’s the fan fest schedule this summer. 

  • Thursday, June 11: 1-6 p.m.
  • Friday, June 12: 4 p.m.-12 a.m.
  • Saturday, June 13: 2-10 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 14: 11 a.m.-5p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 16: 1-10 p.m.
  • Friday, June 19: 12-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 20: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 21: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 24: 4 p.m.-12 a.m.
  • Thursday, June 25: 1 p.m.-12 a.m.
  • Friday, June 26: 2-10 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 27: 3 p.m.-12 a.m.
  • Friday, July 3: 12-11 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 4: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 5: 2-9 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 9: 2-7 p.m.
  • Friday, July 10: 1-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 11: 12-10 p.m.

Do you need tickets for the Fan Festival?

General admission tickets are free for the Kansas City Fan Fest. To access the event, the free tickets are still necessary to secure. Here is where general admission passes can be secured. 

The fan fest is a first-come, first-serve event when it comes to entrance. 

Fans can also purchase elevated admission passes to the fan fest. There are two different options with the Premium Garden Pass and the Legacy Lounge Pass. 

Who is performing at the festival?

While every World Cup game will be shown on big screens around the property, the fan fest will also host concerts on the main stage.

Several major performers will entertain fans in downtown Kansas City.
