Jack Draper has been ruled out of Queen’s due to injury, delaying his on-court debut with new coach Andy Murray and putting his prospects of returning at Wimbledon into doubt.

The 24-year-old was forced to pull out of last month’s French Open after suffering a knee injury at the Barcelona Open in April, having missed several months of action due to bone bruising in his left arm.
Draper, who reached the semi-finals of Queen’s last year and defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the west London tournament in 2024, has completed just eight matches this season and has dropped outside of the world’s top 100.
Draper was ranked fourth in the world this time last year after winning Indian Wells and reaching the final of the Madrid Open but his rise has been followed by a hugely disappointing run of fitness issues.
His appointment of two-time Wimbledon champion Murray, Draper’s tennis idol, ahead of the Championships sparked excitement, and came as Draper confirmed that he had split with Jamie Delgado after just six months.
Murray, 38, had previously coached Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open in 2025, agreeing a short-term partnership with Draper until the end of the grass-court season.
“Recovery going in the right direction, but I’m going to give myself one more week and aim to return at Eastbourne,” Draper said. “Very hard to miss one of my favourite events of the year.”
