Mercer transfer pitcher, infielder commits to Tennessee baseball

Mercer transfer infielder and outfielder Braydon Kersey committed to Tennessee following the 2026 baseball season.

"Committed," Kersey announced. "I’m extremely blessed and proud to announce my commitment to the University of Tennessee! Go Vols! Philippians 4:13."
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound sophomore appeared in 102 games, including 57 starts, as a batter from 2025-26 at Mercer. He recorded a .305 batting average, 21 home runs, 67 RBis, 51 runs, 71 hits, 11 doubles, 39 walks and nine stolen bases.
Kersey also appeared in 45 games as a pitcher, including nine starts. He had a 5-4 record and seven saves in 70.2 innings. Kersey also recorded 64 strikeouts and a 4.97 ERA.
He is from Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta, Georgia and was named Region Player of the Year and First Team All-State at third base as a senior.
Tennessee (38-22) finished its first season under head coach Josh Elander on May 30 in the NCAA Tournament Chapel Hill Regional.
