Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama was unanimously voted as the series MVP, but his backup, former Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet had what Spurs coach Mitch Johnson called the play of the night, according to ESPN's Anthony Slater.

"Wemby" picked up his fifth foul of Saturday's contest with 7:50 remaining, leading Johnson to sub Kornet in for the former Rookie of the Year.

The 2024 NBA champion with the Celtics was immediately called upon on defense, hustling back to stop a would-be dunk by Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein with a ferocious block.

"LUKE KORNET CHASE DOWN BLOCK WHAT A PLAY," the Hoop Central account posted on X.

Wembanyama had heavy praise for Kornet's game-altering play as well.

"I was so proud of him," the two-time All-Star said, per Slater. "So happy. That's the definition of a winning play."
